About the SCHOOL

The Crown Stewardship School was born out of a desire to see people released from poverty, restored with dignity and empowered to impact their communities.  The school is Christ centered, Biblical based, prayer driven and it strives for relevance and excellence.  The school functions under the umbrella of Crown Financial Ministries and work in partnership with Foundations for Farming.

CROWN Stewardship Training

This six-week stewardship training program is designed for faithful followers of Christ who have a servant heart and a desire to see their communities released from poverty.  Students will be empowered with knowledge and real life experiences in key areas of natural and financial stewardship. They will be equipped to become confident trainers in the organizations from which they were sent.

Hands-on Learning



This course will be very practical with opportunities to get hands-on experience of topics covered in class. You will be responsible for daily tasks including gardening, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and cleaning choresYou will visit local farmer groups in the surrounding villages to monitor and evaluate their progress.  

Farmer Training

Imbedded into the course are three blocks of two-week farmer training courses for local farmers.  Local farmers will come as day students and join with the teaching of the day. During the first two-week block, you will learn right alongside the first group of farmers.  During the second two-week block, you will assist in training the farmers.  And during the final two-week block, you will be entirely responsible (with your teammates) for running the entire farmer training!  By the end of your six-weeks of study, you will have extensive practice in planning, training and managing groups of farmers.  

End Result

You will leave the course with all the necessary tools to be an effective trainer, including flip charts, power points, training manuals, DVD's and forms needed for monitoring and evaluation of those you will be training in the future.  You will have a thorough understanding of Biblical money management, basic computer skills, planning, leadership, farming skills, your own personality assessment and the Gospel.  

Graduation

Certificates will be issued to students who successfully complete the course. There will be a graduation ceremony at the school on 12 May for the April intake and another graduation ceremony on 21 July for the June intake. Sponsors and family members are encouraged to attend these ceremonies.

The cost for the full six-week program is MK75,000 and includes the following:

Location



The training center is situated in Chigumula, 12km out of Blantyre on the Thyolo road.  It is surrounded by demonstration gardens.  





ADDITIONAL COURSE OPTIONS


The two-week Farmer Course:

This course is designed for day students who will come from the surrounding villages.  Students from elsewhere are welcome if they can arrange their own accommodation in Chigumula.  This course will give them a basic understanding of Biblical money management, planning, farming skills and the Gospel.  It will be presented in eight days starting on a Monday afternoon at 1 pm and finishing at 4pm.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday classes will start at 8am and finish at 4pm.  The program will repeat itself the following week.  The cost is MK6,000, and includes stationary and lunches.
